Flameworking a Flower - Step by Step Tutorial

The Glass Horse Pendant Tutorial

I love to create this very litte horse pendants but they are a formidable challenge
and so I am able to do not more than one or two of them on one day. Then I have to go back to other sculptures and figurines because my eyes are to tired then for a third.

I will list some of my recently created horse pendants within the next days, but if you have fallen in love with these little beauties, you can here also take a commission and tell me what color (it can have more than one mixed and marbleized in body and mane) or what posture it shall have (in this case, please send me a photo). So you will get your stunning OoAK jewelry.

Please note this:
Glass can break but normally not while you wear it, because ist ist not nearly as fragile as it seems and your soft skin will also protect it. But it will not resist falling on hard ground or any grinding (so please keep it seperate from stone- and metalljewelry.

If you keep this in mind, your little horse has a very good prospect of getting very, very old.

length of pendant: 0.7 - 1 inches (nostrils to tip of the tail)

The Patron of Art - The Maecenas - and the Idea of Freedom

My dear friends, life is getting to my nerves.
Literally.
After I trapped one of them in my back between two intervertebral discs, I had some days off, reading and wincing and not very happy. All the while I could not work and time and money where running out. :-(

And while I read, some phantastic, some SciFi and a little bit of medieval I begann questioning myself - is there some of the tradition still alive, when rich and influential people took patronage of artists? So I scanned the great wide opens of the internet and found lots of statements that there are still maecenas and they still do the patronage thing for artist, museums and artschools.

But how do they find each other?

I really thought about it and find it hard to imagine how life would be if you had not all day long the struggle of shear surviving. When you could make "your true art" without spending a thought on "will it sell?", "will I be able to pay my bills?"..

But what about freedom? Is the sponsored artist still free or more the pet of his maecenas?

What do you think?

All I want to do ist "Art". It builds up inside of me and then it breaks through - but sleeping peacefully for the first time in years, knowing, there is no struggling of survival, knowing, there ist pure creative energy flowing rough you waiting to take shape...wouldn´t that be alluring?

Your heart in glass...

I love to flamework to this kind of music....

Oh my, I was lost and deeply in love when the first soft and vibrant melodies of a Hang reached my ear some years ago. Nothing soothes my stormy wild heart more than sitting on the bank of a little lake, swimming in the hypnotic tunes of one, two or even tree hangs at the same time while the drums are playind wildly and extatic on the other side of the lake, as I did last year in Taucha at the Ancient Trance Festival

Its still really cold outside my workshop and snow and ice everywhere. So I take this sentimental summerfeeling into my home and heart and listen to Sunny Hang while I flamework hummingbirds and butterflies and dream of warmth and light and my feet paddling in cool water. Enjoy your day in love and peace. :-)

How to make a Dinosaur - Video Tutorial

I am working on some new tutorials but I lack some equipment. My videos so far are made with a canon powershot camera and are not nearly as detailed as I wish them to be. I will upload here what I have done so far and if you are interessted in helping me, I would appreciate a little donation for some better equipment and more time on this subject, like written tutorials and undertitles in the videos.

Please contact me if you have any questions on "how to do flamework". I will answer. :-)

Unicorn of the Sea

The Unicorn of the Sea is a new Pendant from my  - Underwater Love -  Series. Since I am back on Etsy again, you will find some more of these from time to time within the next few weeks.

Long, long time...

Its been such a long time, since my last post here. I never expected this. Its amazing how time rushes by when you are busy making art. So I don´t want to let you wait much longer and instead I will show you what has occupied my mind for several months now.

This illuminated Coral sculpture ist the first experiment in the series I am busy working on right now.
Enjoy.
